After the explosive batsman crushed a 53-ball 78 against the Punjab Kings at Mullanpur on April 19 to lead his team to a nine-run victory, former Australian cricketer Tom Moody talked about Suryakumar Yadav returning to form with the Twenty20 World Cup in mind. He’s currently operating at the height of his abilities. He bowled a right-arm over ball to Rilee Rossouw, who is a left-hander, and it was as good as any other ball. Whether you’re Brian Lara or Rilee Rossouw, you’re not going to sit back and take it easy. That delivery was flawless in every way. Once more, Mumbai is relying heavily on him to change their situation. The Punjab Kings were in complete control after his first two overs of bowling. However, it’s interesting to note that he didn’t bowl until the 13th over.
At that point, in my opinion, the Mumbai Indians allowed the Punjab Kings to enter the game. My choices are Coetzee and Bumrah, and I’m curious to know what the other fast bowlers have to say about this show. In order to entirely shut out Punjab on campus, Moody felt that he should have bowled once more.
Dale Steyn, a former bowler for South Africa, discussed the Mumbai Indians’ bowling performance.
“It’s a difficult one because we want Bumrah or Coetzee to return to help them finish games early. However, since Hardik hasn’t been bowling as well lately and some of the other bowlers traveling, like Romario Shepherd, are expected to complete, they might find it difficult in the end. Mumbai must now work out their tactical issues, but they also need one of their bowlers to step up and support Bumrah and Coetzee greatly, as they risk losing more wickets if they continue in their current manner.”
Steyn also discussed last night’s effort by Ashutosh Sharma. The early losses had seemingly eliminated Punjab from the game, but the young player single-handedly maintained his club in the chase. In his spectacular 28-ball 61, which included a sweep for a six-back square off Bumrah’s free hit, he smashed seven sixes and two fours.

Yes, I feel bad for him because he could have been the spark that ignited Punjab’s IPL career if he could have led his side to victory. However, you get the impression that this could be a message to the dressing room that they would find it difficult to get motivated for this IPL. But that doesn’t lessen the impact of the knock that Ashutosh and Shashank gave tonight.
