Shakib Al Hasan, an experienced all-rounder from Bangladesh, has joined the Chittagong Kings for the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season. Shakib signed a two-year contract with Rangpur Riders in 2023, however following a mutual agreement with Kings, the two parties broke up.
Shakib Al Hasan was a direct signing for Chittagong Kings thanks to the mutual understanding.
In addition to Kings, Fortune Barishal chose to sign Rishad Hossain; nonetheless, it is important to note that Barishal signed Hossain after 40 other players were signed by teams.
Due to his possible unavailability, Hossain’s signing was quite late; the Hobart Hurricane selected him for the Big Bash League. At the draft, Barishal also acquired left-handed batsman and current Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Following the completion of the BPL draft, Faruque Ahmed, the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, expressed his relief that the draft had taken place.
All of us were really uncertain. I had no idea how many teams would take part. It required a great deal of effort. It was also worked on by my BPL team. We have now held the draft. Faruque was cited as saying, “I’m confident the teams will be able to further strengthen their squads with two and a half months left until the main tournament.”
“Most teams still need to fill a few positions. Despite one delay, the draft has proceeded according to schedule thus far. I wouldn’t say it’s been too horrible in light of that. Seven teams are involved. We’re experimenting a lot. Although it won’t be flawless, it will be better than it was previously, he continued.

“This time, we will put in our best effort to guarantee good batting wickets, where bowlers who bowl well will be respected.” In the last competition, I think the wickets weren’t that bad either. The matches during the day had few runs. We’ll strive to make T20 cricket more entertaining this time,” he stated.
