Ajit Agarkar‘s Men’s Selection Committee now has Ajay Ratra as its newest member, according to a Tuesday announcement from the BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee.
Bringing a plethora of experience and an exceptional record in both provincial and international cricket, Ratra is a former Indian wicketkeeper-batter.
Salil Ankola will be replaced in the Committee by Ratra.
He participated in 12 ODIs and 6 Tests for India. Playing for Haryana, Ratra participated in more than 90 First Class matches, amassing nearly 4,000 runs and being dismissed more than 240 times.
In her role as a selector, Ratra will collaborate with the current members of the committee to find and develop the players of the future who will represent India in international cricket.
Ratra has been the head coach of Assam, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, giving him a wealth of coaching expertise. Additionally, in 2023, he served as a member of the Indian team’s coaching staff while they played an ODI series in South Africa.

The committee will find great use for his ideas in identifying, developing, and providing the best individuals with the chance to succeed at the greatest level.
