Given that he won’t be carrying a captaincy load, former India bowler Sreesanth thinks Rohit Sharma might compete for the coveted Orange Cap in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Before the competition, Hardik Pandya took Rohit’s place after the latter was moved from Gujarat Titans (GT). Rohit led Mumbai Indians (MI) to a record-tying five titles.
Following his selection as MI captain, Hardik has encountered harsh criticism from supporters. Though he points out that the great Sachin Tendulkar played for MS Dhoni, Sreesanth believes Rohit would love to play freely under Hardik’s direction.
“Under Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), we witnessed the performance of the cricket god, Sachin Tendulkar.” Plus, we won the World Cup. Although Rohit Sharma is playing under new captain Hardik Pandya, a lot of things are being written about him, Sreesanth informed The Times of India that Rohit would prefer to play freely.
Additionally, he supported Rohit to win the tournament’s highest run score since he thought the captain of India could bat freely if he only concentrated on improving his game.

As far as I’m aware, Rohit would prefer to bat freely, not having to worry about being captain, and he might even win the Orange Cap. This season will be fantastic for him. Although he has led the Mumbai Indians from the front, I have no doubt that Rohit will lead them from the rear,” the 41-year-old continued.
Rohit will remain the same regardless of the team he plays for: Speaking further, Sreesanth S Sreesanth said that Rohit Sharma won’t change and that it doesn’t matter where he plays. The batsman, who was born in Kerala, continued by saying he will hit a lot of runs this season since he has faith in Hitman’s skill. During the 2017 IPL, the 36-year-old created a notable milestone by registering the joint-highest number of ducks (17) in the T20 league.
“Let’s embrace change and be prepared for it, in my opinion. Rohit will remain the same regardless of the team he plays for. Although I have no doubt that he is going through a trying period personally, I have every confidence that he will handle it well and emerge victorious. This season, Rohit will score a lot of goals,” he said.
