On Wednesday, April 24, at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant continued his incredible success in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) by recording his third half-century of the year against the Gujarat Titans (GT). Delhi was having trouble at 44/3 when Pant and Axar Patel arrived at the crease after 5.4 overs after Shubman Gill had put them in to bat first for GT.
With just seven runs off his first eight balls, the wicketkeeper-battler took a conservative approach to the start of his innings. With a half-tracker from Rashid Khan for a boundary in the tenth over, he finally found his rhythm. Patel faced the bowlers from the opposite end while Pant was settling in, and together with his skipper, they stitched a vital 113-run partnership off 68 balls for the fourth wicket to steady the innings.
Noor Ahmad caused Patel to hole out too long for 66 (43), ending their partnership. After being removed from the game, Pant decided to finish the innings on his own and smashed a massive six against Mohit Sharma in the 18th over of 34 balls to reach his half-century.
Rishabh Pant finishes the IPL 2024 with the fourth-highest run total.
In order to collect 31 runs off the final overs, he went on the right-arm seamer one more time in the innings, hitting him for four sixes and one four. With five fours and eight sixes, thanks to his onslaught, Pant quickly reached 88 off 43 balls. With 342 runs from nine innings at an average of 48.85 and a strike rate of 161.32, he moved up to the third spot on the list of the season’s top run scorers after his inning.

Tristan Stubbs provided him with great support during his quick-fire cameo of 26 off seven balls, which included two sixes and three fours. With their undefeated 67-run partnership off of 18 balls, DC completed their innings with 224/4 in the 20 overs that were allocated to them. Mohit Sharma, meanwhile, recorded the most costly figures in IPL history—0/73 in four overs.
Reactions to Rishabh Pant’s outstanding innings were all over X in the meantime. Listed below are a few posts:
