Rishabh Pant was in a jovial mood on Day 3 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, September 21. The flamboyant wicketkeeper-batter is known for speaking his mind on the field and being a chatterbox at times. However, during the first session on Day 3, he offered a helping hand to Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Especially in the last minutes of the first session on Day 3, Shubman Gill and Pant were giving it their best. In an attempt to limit the scoring pace, Shanto was working very hard to position his fielders. Pant chose to intervene after observing the 26-year-old’s difficulties and recommended that a fielder be positioned at mid-wicket.
It’s aayega ek arey idhar. Hehe, send in a fielder. Idhar kam fielder hai. There aren’t many field players here),” Pant appeared to say to Shanto, gesturing to the side of his legs. The latter took Pant’s advice to heart and put a fielder at midwicket.
Always in the captain’s ear, even when it’s the opposition’s! 😂👂
