On April 3, the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Delhi Capitals by 106 runs to maintain their perfect record in the IPL 2024. In 17.2 overs, KKR amassed 272/7 and DC was bowled out for 166. IPL gurus Parthiv Patel and Eoin Morgan from JioCinema talked exclusively about “Match Center Live” and how Sunil Narine (85 runs; 1/29) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54 runs) performed.
Excerpts:
Regarding Sunil Narine’s batting, Eoin Morgan said that it demonstrates how much he enjoys it. He used to be a batter and bowl a little seam in his younger days. He put a lot of effort into developing these miraculous deliveries over time. But his batting brings him such delight. Brian Lara was his childhood hero. Some of Narine’s photographs this evening would have Lara smiling.
Parthiv Patel on Narine: Gautam Gambhir was adamant that Sunil Narine was the type of player who could win them games if he began the batting when he was captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He returned to KKR and has carried out this action. Numerous factors influence the outcome. You can bat with confidence when you know you have support from someone. His batting is really exciting. It’s thrilling to score 85 off 39 balls when it seems like every other ball has the potential to score a four or a six.

Patel on Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s batting performance: “He did a great job at bat.” For a young golfer, he made some really good shots. It’s very thrilling when you’re playing on a big stage like the Indian Premier League for the first time and you’re up against a bowler like Anrich Nortje, who averages 140–145 km/h, and you hit a four off your opening ball with a hook shot. They also hit the second ball for a four. I could see confidence in his hitting, for example. He must be thinking that this is some kind of dream because he is eighteen years old.
