Priyansh Arya gained notoriety in the first Delhi Premier League (DPL) for hitting six sixes in a single over. The young player expressed his desire to play for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and picked Virat Kohli as his favourite player.
For many aspiring cricket players, Kohli has served as an inspiration. In a recent interview, Priyansh, who emulates his idol by donning the No. 18 shirt, expressed his respect for the former captain of India.
I really love Virat Kohli and my favourite team is RCB because I enjoy his aggressiveness. I enjoy playing aggressive cricket as well. India Today cited Arya as stating, “He is my idol.”
The 23-year-old wanted to help RCB, who had been without an Indian Premier League championship for 17 years, finally win one.
“I want to play for RCB; my favourite player is Virat Kohli.”
Priyansh, who plays for the South Delhi Superstarz, is the DPL’s top run scorer with 602 runs scored in nine innings. In the 12th over of the Superstarz vs North Delhi Strikers match last month, the left-handed batter executed left-arm spinner Manan Bharadwaj. Arya continued to assist his team achieve a massive total of 308/5 in 20 overs, scoring his second century of the competition. In the end, he scored 120 off 50 balls.
“I thought that I would attack a left-arm spinner if he came on to bowl.” I began to think that I could hit six sixes after the fourth one, so I decided to go for it. “Ayush encouraged me to go for the kill and supported me,” he disclosed. A record-breaking 286 between Arya and Superstarz captain Ayush Badoni helped their team win handily by 112 runs.

“Badoni is really laid-back, doesn’t say much, and just encourages us to express ourselves. The atmosphere on the team is relaxed, and the coaches focus more on the advantages than the disadvantages. The goal is to take home the trophy, Arya continued.
