With the 2025 Champions Trophy approaching, the main event is scheduled to take place in Pakistan. As is customary with tournaments in Pakistan, there have been concerns regarding the Indian team’s trip. It has been reported recently that the BCCI has declined to visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Following their legal advice, the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) decided to write to the ICC about the BCCI’s declined visit.
In order to gain a better understanding of the issue, the PCB has been given the policy guidelines regarding India by the federal government.
The ICC, however, was the one who told the PCB about India’s predicament and refusal to visit Pakistan.
According to certain sources, the government officials who instructed the PCB to involve other boards in this case instead. When given the chance, Pakistan has always been able to visit India, and the Indian team has no ethical or legal justification for skipping the trip.
An insider recently spoke up about how Pakistan traveled to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup in spite of the political difficulties between the two nations and suggested that India need to follow suit.
With the understanding that India would visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy if we traveled to India for the World Cup, we went there in 2023 despite the animosity and unstable situation. Nothing was objected to back then, but these justifications are no longer valid,” Wion cited a PCB officer as stating.
