One of the most eagerly awaited matches of the ODI World Cup 2023 is about to begin. On Saturday, October 14, in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, Team India prepares to face Babar Azam’s Pakistan following their commanding victory over Afghanistan.
As the game draws near, all eyes will be on Jasprit Bumrah, an elite Indian bowler who is playing in his birthplace of Ahmedabad. Jasprit Bumrah, who is about to take on Pakistan, came forth to voice his opinion that meeting his mother and family comes before taking on Pakistan.
Bumrah mentioned that although he hasn’t played an ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the 29-year-old believes the atmosphere would be lively based on his experiences there during Test cricket.
“I’ve been gone for quite some time. My mum being at home will make me happy. I’m visiting her. For me, that is the most fundamental thing. I’ve played a test match there, but not a one-day game. It’s going to be an interesting environment. I have no doubt that a sizable crowd will attend. It will thus be a sight to behold. I’m aiming for the best over there, so definitely,” Jasprit Bumrah was reported by NDTV as saying.
India wants to keep up its winning ways before facing Pakistan.
The Indian team has been in outstanding shape heading into the 2023 World Cup. India has won both of its matches it has played so far in the competition. The team has so far faced Afghanistan and Australia.
KL Rahul and Virat Kohli made sure that the team prevailed against Australia after a difficult start to the run chase. Additionally, Kohli’s tenacity against Afghanistan and Rohit Sharma’s exuberant century assisted them in recording back-to-back victories.
As the match between India and Pakistan approaches, it will be interesting to see how the team performs against their bitter rivals. With the backing of the crowd in the large cricket stadium, the game should be entertaining.
