Team India has qualified for the Asia Cup 2023’s Super Four round. The side faced Pakistan to open their campaign. However, as both teams were tied for the point, that game was called off and abandoned. After the first game, India faced Rohit Paudel’s Nepal in the following match, which they won handily.
After being given the opportunity to bat first, Nepal scored 230 runs in the first innings.
However, because of rain, which interrupted the game multiple times, team India was given a revised goal of 145 runs, which they had to reach in 23 overs. India won by a score of 10 thanks to the outstanding runs-scoring efforts of openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Gill scored 67* runs in 62 deliveries, compared to Rohit’s 74* runs in 59 deliveries. Their outstanding hits enabled India to win the match and advance to the Super Four level.
Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came forth after the victory to say that it would be really beneficial for the squad. He claimed that because it was their first time against Nepal, they were unaware of the batters’ potential shots. He added that this victory will give India some much-needed confidence.
“Our team won by 10 wickets, so we feel confident overall. You need that victory as a team before the important games. The team did well with this victory. In a BCCI-shared video, Ravindra Jadeja remarked, “We were playing Nepal for the first time and did not know what shots they could play.
We were unaware of the team’s strength as Nepal got off to a strong start. Their go-to shots were unknown to us. Since it is difficult to strike the spinners in middle overs, Kuldeep and I came and took control of the game. I simply focused on bowling root to stump,” he continued.
A clinical 10-wicket win ✅
An impressive triple treat from @imjadeja 👌
