After hitting his maiden half-century of his IPL career against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 23, Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Nitish Reddy joined the group of young players establishing a name for themselves in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). After 3.4 overs, with Travis Head (21 off 15) and Aiden Markram (0 off 2) back in the pavilion, the 20-year-old was walked in to bat with his team reeling at 27/2.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Reddy remained undeterred and used four fours and five sixes to hammer out a scorching 64 off 37 balls. Fans were particularly amazed by the right-hand batter’s amazing pull against Kagiso Rabada’s speed, despite the fact that he played several elegant strokes during his innings.

Reddy casually pulled off a short delivery from the South African fast, depositing him over the fine leg in the bleachers on the fifth ball of the twelfth over. The young player had no concerns about confronting one of the best bowlers in international cricket, and Reddy’s rapid answer had everyone on the edge of their seats.

Abdul Samad (25 off 12) and Reddy engaged in a fast-paced 50-run partnership in just 20 balls for the sixth wicket. Owing to their collaboration, SRH completed their allocated 20 overs with a respectable total of 182/9. With stats of 4/29 in four overs, Arshdeep Singh was the most effective bowler for PBKS.
By two runs, Punjab lost the game.
Punjab, in response, had a similarly poor start as they found themselves in a precarious situation at 20/3 after 4.4 overs. Nonetheless, Shashank Singh persevered for his team to the very end, scoring a heroic 46* off 25 balls while blasting six fours and a six.
With the help of Ashutosh Sharma (33* off 15), he was ably supported as the pair amassed 66 runs for the seventh wicket in only 27 balls. But they couldn’t get their team over the finish line, and they ended the inning with a 180/6 score, losing the game by two runs.
