Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson will represent New Zealand in the three-ODI series in Bangladesh in place of regular captain Kane Williamson and his stand-in, Tom Latham, who both missed the recently finished England series. Tim Southee will also not be available for New Zealand because he needs to get back to full strength before the World Cup after breaking a bone in his right thumb.
Lockie Ferguson is the captain of the New Zealand team, which also includes Finn Allen, Tom Blundell, Trent Boult, Chad Bowes, Dane Cleaver, Dean Foxcroft*, Kyle Jamieson, Cole McConchie, Adam Milne, Henry Nicholls, Rachin Ravindra, Ish Sodhi, Blair Tickner, and Will Young.
Chad Bowes, Tom Blundell, Dane Cleaver, Blair Tickner, Cole McConchie, Adam Milne, and Henry Nicholls are only a few of the players New Zealand has named for the three games (on September 21, 23, and 26), as they are not travelling with the team for the World Cup. Dean Foxcroft, an all-rounder for Central Districts who has never played professionally, is also on the team, while Trent Boult, Latham, Matt Henry, and James Neesham are resting.
Luke Ronchi, the batting coach for New Zealand, will lead the team on this tour without Gary Stead.
Shane Jurgensen, the bowling coach, and Ian Bell, the batting coach from the ODI series against England, are joining him on the support staff.
