Afghanistan won the first One-Day International (ODI) against Bangladesh on November 6 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. They were dismissed for a mere 143 runs in 35 overs, falling short of the 236-run goal set by Afghanistan. The Afghan spinner Allah Ghazanfar claimed career-best figures of 6/26 and delivered consistent strikes.
Prior to the second ODI, which will take place at the same location on November 9, Bangladesh has handed a severe blow to both teams.
Mushfiqur Rahim, their seasoned batter, is probably going to miss the next game or the series since he broke his finger.
Gazi Ashraf Hossain, the top selector for the Bangladesh Cricket Board, and Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, the chief medic, both confirmed the development.
“Yes, it appears that he sustained a somewhat significant injury. The only thing we will know is how long he will have to wait after taking tests. According to current events, however, he will no longer be able to appear in this series. There is a suspicion that his finger has a small fracture. Only tests will be able to validate it. The Daily Star, Bangladesh, cited Ashraf Hossain as saying, “We have not yet received the details [of the nature of his injury].”
Allah Ghazanfar is a unique skill. When the team lost Mahmudullah by taking their fifth wicket, Hashmatullah Shahidi Mussfiqur came out to bat at number seven. The score was 135/5 at 31.4 overs. With a deadly appearance, Allah Ghazanfar pitched a carrom ball that slid to off. The 37-year-old scored just one run after attempting to flick the ball by leaning forward and failing to make bat contact before being quickly stumped by Ikram Alikhil.

“Allah Ghazanfar is a unique talent with a bright future for Afghanistan.” I questioned him about why he bowled that no-ball after he had bowled well in the first spell. After the game, Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, expressed his satisfaction with the choices available to him on the bench.
