In the Vijay Merchant Trophy finals in Alur, Mumbai captain Aryan Sakpal struck a spectacular blow against Gujarat. Mumbai secured the coveted trophy and won the match by an innings and 38 runs thanks to his 127 runs off 355 deliveries. Sakpal said that his colleagues’ dinner celebration with MCA officials in Bengaluru after the victory was “amazing.”
Aryan Sakpal, in the meantime, expressed his immense pride in his journey while talking about their amazing victory. The cricket player’s aim was to play in the historic competition, which he used to watch on TV with his father. He said that adding another trophy to Mumbai’s collection was a dream come true for him.
“I was really proud of myself because I had seen this competition last year and prior to COVID-19 on TV. In that year as well, Mumbai had won the event. It was my ambition to compete in the competition, get to the championship round, and support my team to victory on television. It was a joyous occasion, as that dream was realized as well. Sakpal disclosed this to News18.
Interestingly, Aryan Sakpal also practices with senior coach Dinesh Lad, who has previously worked with Shardul Thakur and Rohit Sharma.
Speaking of what he had learned from him, Aryan Sakpal said that Lad inspires them to play like the present captain of India and is always willing to lend a hand.
“Dinesh Boy” Sir is excellent; he constantly provides excellent instruction and is readily available anytime I need him. It feels great to talk to him about anything, no matter how high or low. Sir will always encourage me to remain patient, even if I lose it when there isn’t a chance. I behave appropriately, and the outcomes are positive.
Indeed, sir discusses Rohit. He encourages us to follow in Rohit’s footsteps by trying to teach us how to play the pull shot and by showing us how he used to win games for his school team.
