After coming out to bat at No. 9 against the Punjab Kings in his team’s most recent match, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan expressed his displeasure with veteran Chennai Super Kings wicketkeeper MS Dhoni. On Sunday, May 5, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, the 53rd match of the tournament featured fierce action between both teams.
Pathan saw that Dhoni, who appeared to be in prolific form, came out to bat at No. 9 in the first inning when batting first. Moreover, he failed to create an impression, batting so low in the order that Harshal Patel sent him packing for a golden duck.
Pathan expressed his opinion on the matter, saying that Dhoni should not bat so low in the order since it will never benefit the team. Dhoni has appeared to be in fine form for the five-time champions, but Pathan believes he should be taking on more responsibility given his age.

“By batting at No. 9, MS Dhoni is not contributing to the cause of CSK. Even though he is 42, he is in good physical shape. He ought to assume accountability for raising the order. He should bat for at least 4 or 5 overs. It doesn’t benefit CSK in the long run for him to bat for the final over or last two overs, according to Pathan, who spoke with Star Sports.
He must obey the command: Irfan Pathan
Remarkably, MS Dhoni has scored 110 runs at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 224.48 in nine innings in eleven matches. Despite his advanced age, he has always shown aggression when taking the field and has left an impression with his performances.
It’s possible that CSK will win 90 percent of their games in order to advance to the playoffs going forward. He must take the command seriously and act like a mature, in-form senior citizen. Pathan stated, “He cannot be acting in the same manner as he has done on numerous occasions.
