Mitchell Starc is humorously trolled by Iceland Cricket after yet another poor performance in the 2024 IPL season: “More expensive than a beer in Iceland.”

The 17th edition of the IPL auction created quite a stir before the tournament’s commencement, with several franchises shelling out a lot of money for some very famous players. The two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders paid INR 24.75 crore to acquire renowned Australian pacer Mitchell Starc.

KKR hasn’t, however, benefited from the investment thus far. Mitchell Starc has established himself as one of KKR’s most costly bowlers in the two games they have played thus far.

In addition, Starc gave up 47 runs in four overs against the Royals in their most recent match. In the first game, Starc gave up 53 runs in four overs without taking a wicket.

After witnessing his performances, Starc was the target of trolling by Iceland Cricket’s official X account on social media. Iceland Cricket made light of a post regarding the great pacer’s IPL 2024 statistics by joking that in their nation, he costs more than beer. Iceland Cricket tweeted, “More expensive than a beer in Iceland.”

Next up, the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders play.

In relation to the Kolkata Knight Riders, the team has had an outstanding start to their IPL 2024 campaign. With two victories in two games, the squad has four points from two matches and is ranked second in the standings.

The two-time winners will now concentrate on their upcoming match after two straight victories. It is noteworthy that the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals will host KKR when they travel to Visakhapatnam.
