By defeating the Punjab Kings by 21 runs on Saturday, the Lucknow Super Giants achieved their first victory of the 2024 Indian Premier League. IPL analysts Shane Watson and Parthiv Patel of JioCinema examined Mayank Yadav’s (3/27) outstanding performance, which included a record-breaking 155.8 km/h delivery in the 11th over. Nicholas Pooran (42 runs) of LSG made an exclusive appearance on “Match Centre Live.” Take a peek:
In his current incarnation, Nicholas Pooran said, “It’s really nice.” As you are all aware, especially in Twenty20 cricket, batting well comes from years of hard training. I was raised on Twenty20 cricket. At the age of 17, I began to play this. Even though I was rather erratic in my early years, I’ve always aimed to be the best version of myself.
Ask questions, study the greatest hitters in the world, and absorb lessons from my blunders. I have gurus who are very knowledgeable about Twenty20 cricket, like Pollard. They don’t hesitate to call me when I make a mistake or to correct me. I can improve my ability level just by having these guys around to help me grasp different circumstances.
Pooran gave Mayank Yadav extra credit for his performance, saying, “He’s one of those guys who doesn’t know how to bowl slowly in the nets.” He moves quickly, and I encountered him once in the nets. I’m glad he had the chance today, and for the next few weeks, he will be the talk of the town.

Shane Watson discussed Yadav’s speed: Wow. Finding a quick bowler who can force elite hitters to hop about is what every team is looking for. Jonny Bairstow wasn’t interested in having too much of it after facing two balls. After he got moving, Mayank was able to secure his wicket. Those lightning strikes were amazing to witness.
Regarding Mayank Yadav, Parthiv Patel said:
We can pick up the tempo a bit because he has been bowling over 150 routinely. However, the most crucial factor is how accurate he is demonstrating. Even though pace can be a tool if batters use it against you, you still need to place the ball correctly and at the right length. He bowled tight deliveries, leaving them with no room. He was just the right length—neither too long nor too short. It’s very impressive that you can bowl deliveries at this velocity when it’s appropriate. It’s hard to overstate how great he is when you’re making your debut with little to no elite experience.
