Right then, 210 is what West Indies need to get the win and start off the home series on a high. It shouldn't be a big ask given England have a fairly inexperienced bowling line up as well. However, currently, the covers are on as there is a drizzle on the ground. It has been overcast the whole time and finally, we see a bit of rain. Hopefully, it clears out soon and the chas can get underway on time. Stick around for the latest updates.
Jayden Seales is down for a chat. He expresses satisfaction with his performance, noting how he overcame the frustrations of a challenging series in Sri Lanka. He reflects on how rushing his delivery affected his results there but shares that slowing down in practice has helped him regain his rhythm. Confidently, he adds that he believes the target set is chasable.
The wicket was a bit on the slower side and England had an inexperienced line up but surely, they could have done better than 209. The openers were a bit shaky and got out trying to up the ante and then the two young chaps in the form of Jordan Cox and Jacob Bethell couldn't make full use of a tidy start. The partnership between skipper Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran was crucial and at one point, England looked to be in the ascendancy but a soft dismissal for Liam on 48 runs meant the Windies managed to break into the lower middle order. Curran played a tidy knock as well but couldn't stay on for too long and they folded like a pack of cards.
West Indies played five frontline bowlers and they did have a couple of part-timers to back them up but weren't required. Jayden Seales showed excellent control in the first Powerplay and after a bit of pressing, he got both English openers back in the hut and then Matthew Forde picked up a couple of wickets as well after which, the spinners bossed the middle phase as well. Roston Chase bowled really well without any reward but the other spinner, Gudakesh Motie ran through the middle order has he bagged four wickets. Alzarri Joseph and Matthew Forde then cleaned things up with a wicket each in the last Powerplay and kept England down under 210 runs.
An excellent showing from the bowlers has backed skipper Shai Hope's call to bowl first and West Indies will be very pleased at the interval. Not the score on board England would have wanted and are really up against it in the second half but at least, they have something to defend.

OUT! CAUGHT! England are bundled out for 209 runs and West Indies will be a happy camp of the two at the moment! Alzarri Joseph gets his second wicket as he runs in from over the wicket and bowls the delivery on a good length on top of the stumps with pace. Adil Rashid moves away and looks to slog the ball but hits it straight to Matthew Forde at mid on who takes a comfortable reverse cup. Adil Rashid makes 15 (19) and England are all out for 209 run.
