Welsh Fire Women beat Manchester Originals Women by 9 wickets

Right then! That's all from this game! Welsh Fire Women finally get off the mark in this tournament and they now would look to continue the momentum going. Manchester Originals Women have a lot of work to do. Don't go anywhere as another game is coming up as Northern Chargers Women face Oval Invincibles Women. Do join us for that game. Cheers and take care.
Kate Cross, the Manchester Originals' sklpper, says that it was not their day and says that they have not played their best cricket yet. Adds that they need to assess how they played this game and move forward. Tells that the overseas players have not fired for them yet and they have a lot of talent and they will fire. Goes onto say that Matthews was on fire in this game and she did not give them any chance. Adds that they will look to make a comeback in their next game. Tells that they are a young group and they will get better as they gain experience.
Sophie Luff, the Welsh Fire skipper, says that they needed this win and hopefully they can kickoff from here. Adds that there is a lot of responsibility on their batters and they did well in this game. Tells that Matthews is a superstar and she was disappointed that she could not do so well in the earlier games.
Hayley Matthews, the Hero of the Match, says that they were happy with the total that they had to chase. She credits her partner Georgia Redmayne by saying that she got very good support from the other end and it made things easy for her in the middle. She thinks that their bowlers did a terrific job in restricting the Originals to a total of 120. She signs off by saying that it is good to get a win under their belt.
It was a Hayley Matthews show for Welsh Fire. She showed her range of shots and played a magnificent inning and never let Manchester Originals come back in the game. She was well-supported by Georgia Redmayne who played a very good innings of 38 in 35 balls. They never looked uncomfortable in the run chase and they have won the game with ease.
Manchester Originals Women never looked like they will be able to defend this total. They gave away far too many runs at the start. Apart from Sophie Ecclestone, everyone went for runs and they were poor in the field as well, dropping many catches and even committing some misfields which is not desired when defending a low score. Overall, a poor performance from Manchester Originals Women.
A comprehensive win for Welsh Fire! They have beaten Manchester Originals Women, quite comfortably and they have got their first win on the board. They will be very pleased with the effort but Manchester Originals Women are staring down the barrel after another defeat. They need to start getting wins under their belt if they want to make a comeback.
