Sydney Thunder beat Hobart Hurricanes by 62 runs

Right then! That is it from this game! The final game of 2022 is coming your way soon. Switch the tabs and join the coverage of Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars. Till then, it is goodbye and we wish you a very Happy New Year.
Oliver Davies is handed the Player of the Match award for his scintillating performance.
Hobart Hurricanes won the toss but nothing after that! They were beaten by the bat and ball. It was a good wicket to bat on but failed to get a good start. Matthew Wade though didn't give up easily as he played a fiery innings. At one moment, they had the game in control but his wicket and the run out of David didn't help them. That was a big blow for them and after that it was just a procession. Hobart Hurricanes fail yet again to stitch to wins in a row.
Happy New Year, Sydney Thunder! A comprehensive win for them but fair to say the win was set up by the batters. A mammoth score of more than 220! The knocks from Alex Hales, Oliver Davies and a couple of others set up the chase. The bowlers had ample runs to play with but they played according to the plan. It was Brendan Doggett who claimed four wickets while Ben Cutting took the big wicket of Wade. A really good show overall! A good turnaround from them as well. After three losses, they now have three wins.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! That is a sharp return catch! It stunk but Ben McDermott has done the job! On a length and around off. Ellis clears his front leg and smashes it straight back to Brendan Doggett who on his follow though gets his hand near his knees and with both hands holds onto it. Excellent.
