D'ARCY SHORT HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Not surprising, but only thing bamboozling is that if you have just tuned in and not checking the scorecard, you would be surprised to see that he has been awarded because of his bowling, not batting.
A miserable evening for the Thunder. They were inconsistent with the ball, conceding too many runs at the death while the batting simply did not step up. Only three men reached double figures. This poor display means that Thunder have slipped to 6t, with Hurricanes taking the provisional 5th spot. The Greens must find a way to beat the Scorchers in their final clash.
Right. A 57-run win for the Hurricanes. They never were in threat, after posting 185. Only Hales provided any sort of resistance but the biggest surprise was D'Arcy Short taking a 5-fer. The others did not even need to build any sort of pressure, as Short cut the run chase short.

Talking off the bowling of Sydney Thunder, they were superb with the ball in hand as they kept it tight and made life miserable for the Hurricanes' batsmen for most part of the innings. Arjun Nair was once again superb with the ball in hand as he striked in his first over. Others too were good with varying their lines and lengths. Daniel Sams was the stand out bowler for the visitors as he took 4 wickets. The fielding was also superb as they took some great catches.
It has been an excellent batting display by the Hobart Hurricanes. Matthew Wade was partnered by D'Arcy Short as the duo opened the innings. But Short was unlucky to get dismissed in just the 1st over itself. Then once again the pair of Wade and Wright came to their rescue as they both added 97 runs for the second wicket. Also, Wade reached his fifty but failed to carry on. There was a mini collapse in the middle but George Bailey played a cameo to lift the total close to 190.
