It was a good pitch to bat on however SKM Salem Spartans were 10-15 runs short to their total. They do batted well, R Kavin and Vaidhya build a strong partnership but both fell when it was time to slog big. SKM Salem Spartans missed out on a grand stand finish in the final few overs. Another few runs and SKM Salem Spartans would have had a lot more to defend the total. However, credit to Siechem Madurai Panthers for the way they recovered with the ball which turned out to be a momentum shifting phase.
Siechem Madurai Panthers had a massive score to chase! They were calculative throughout the game. Suresh Lokeshwar on top was the one who made the scoreboard ticking by playing some blistering shots. He scored a fine fifty and passed on the baton to Jagatheesan Kousik who picked up and kept the required run rate in check. SKM Salem Spartans were finding it difficult to keep a lid on the run flow but somehow got wickets but when they got rid of Kausik, the belief started to kick in. They took a couple of wickets but Murugan Ashwin was calm in the last over to get his team over the line.
Some incredible hitting from Murugan Ashwin sees Siechem Madurai Panthers get off the mark this season. Both teams were in a winning position till the last over. Sunny Sandhu bowled well before the last over however Murugan Ashwin, the batter turned up to win by hitting three sixes in a row.
