Sydney Sixers beat Sydney Thunder by 60 runs

Done and dusted with the Sydney derby. We move ahead in this year's BBL and the next game is going to be between Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat as they fight it out for their survival on Sunday, 16th January. Do join us at 1.45 pm IST (8.15 am GMT) for all the action. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!
For exceptional figures of 4-0-18-4, Steve O'Keefe has been chosen for the Player of the Match award.
After a resounding comeback with the bat, Sydney Sixers had a job to do with the ball. They didn't start too well but once Steve O'Keefe was introduced in the sixth over, things unravelled quite quickly. The veteran returned from a hand injury and handed a thumping to the Thunder batsmen. He bowled a couple of 2-wicket overs and broke the back of Sydney Thunder's batting. The other bowlers also rallied around the old warhorse and the reigning champions romped home. They now have 31 points on the board, equal to Sydney Thunder, but the Sixers have played one game less. Things looking very bright for the Men in Magenta to finish in the top two.
Sydney Sixers have once again owned the Sydney derby. This match will be best known for two things - 1. Comeback, 2. Greed. From 8 for 1 after 4 overs, Sydney Sixers showed great character to bounce back. The partnership between Josh Philippe and Daniel Hughes did the rescue act and once they recovered from a bad phase, the defending champions went bonkers. 189 runs in the next 16 overs - Simply wow! Talking about the greed, Sydney Thunder had a strong start in the Powerplay and thought about going for the Bash Boost point despite losing wickets. There is a saying - 'Greed is a little bit more than enough' and in an attempt to win one extra point, the Thunder put three points on the line and ended with zero.

It indeed is a bumper. Around off, short in length, Mohammad Hasnain goes for the pull but could not connect. That's it. A dominating performance from the defending champions with the bat and with the ball. SYDNEY SIXERS WIN BY 60 RUNS!
Mohammad Hasnain is on strike. Moises Henriques versus him. Grand finish, haha! Bumper?

On a length, on leg. Tanveer Sangha shuffles across and somehow keeps it out wide of the keeper. They cross.
In walks Mohammad Hasnain but he won't be on strike.

OUT! TAKEN! Fifty and out for Chris Green! Back of a length, on middle. Chris Green mistimes his pull towards deep mid-wicket. The ball was in the air for sometime but Sean Abbott has safe pair of hands and he takes a simple catch in the deep.

FIFTY! Chris Green has shown some fight here for his side. Length ball, on middle. Chris Green smashes it to long on and comes back for the second run. Gets to his fifty and he raises his bat. His maiden fifty in BBL.

Short on middle, pulled through mid-wicket for a single.
Moises Henriques to bowl the last over. Would be fun if a wicket falls and Mohammad Hasnain comes out to bat.
