For his brilliant display with the bat, Andrew Puttick is named the Man of the Match. Puttick says that he just tried to keep it simple and play good cricketing shots. Adds that van Wyk kept him calm. Puttick says they were looking to push Bangladesh fielder in the field. Tells they have a few guys carrying niggle and hence they looked to finish the game. Adds that they wanted to finish the game earlier than they did. Puttick says the game against Sri Lanka Legends will be awesome and he cannot wait for it.
South Africa Legends skipper, Jonty Rhodes, jokes that he turned the clock too far. Jonty says that the position they find themselves in gives them time to see how the injury responds. Rhodes feels if they had lost a wicket or two in the end things could have been very interesting. Jonty says they knew they had talented players up top but adds they felt if they could take 3-4 wickets they could knock them over. Rhodes says Sri Lanka Legends are practising a lot as he sees them play cricket around the hotel. Tells that he hopes to take early wickets against them and put them under pressure.
Bangladesh Legends', Khaled Mahmud says that they have faced this issue throughout the tournament. He mentions that they played far too many dot balls which did not do good to them. He mentions that there is moisture at night so the ball gets wet and it makes batting easy. He further mentions that South Africa legends batted professionally. He mentions that they did not get enough chance to practice due to covid and he tells that surely that cannot be an excuse. He ends by saying that if they get a chance next time around then they would look to perform in a better way.
Earlier in the evening, Bangladesh Legends were put to bat. They started off well and were looking set for a total of over 175. But the wheels fell off badly towards the end of their innings and they stuttered their way to 160. A total that was not good enough for them to defend and get their first proper win. They bow out of the tournament without a proper win.
A tough evening for the Bangladesh Legends bowlers. The collapse from the batters towards the end meant that they were short by around 15-20 runs and it proved to be. Bangladesh Legends needed wickets at regular intervals but they were unable to put that pressure as Puttick and van Wyk were just outstanding.
Chasing 161, South Africa Legends knew they were a batter short as skipper Jonty Rhodes' participation looked dicey. Puttick and Van Wyk motored the chase brilliantly. Puttick played the aggressor's role while van Wyk was happy to play the second fiddle. The openers sealed the deal themselves and took the side over the finish line with ease.
An excellent run chase from South Africa Legends and though they have been marred with injury crisis, the South Africa Legends have secured their place at the third spot in the league table and will take on Sri Lanka Legends in the final! Barring  injury to Jonty Rhodes, it was a perfect day at the office for them!
