Right then! A very sorry show for the Renegades sees them lose this encounter while the Sixers have deservedly won this game. The action continues on BBL as on Monday, 14th December 2020, Sydney Thunder cross paths against Brisbane Heat. That game promises to be a cracker. The action begins at 1915 local (0815 GMT). We hope to have your company for that game. Until then, take care and cheers!
Josh Philippe is named the Player of the Match. Tells that what has happened out in the middle is a bit strange. Adds that he is happy with his performance but calls it a team effort. Says that with Bash Boost, Renegades went for that one point after losing a few wickets early. Tells that he had a good time in the Indian T20 League where he got to work with Simon Katich. Mentions that he also got to learn from Virat Kohli there. Ends by saying that he is happy with their first win.
Earlier in the game, Sixers got to a massive score with Philippe playing a brilliant knock of 95. Silk did his bit towards the end and blasted 45 off just 19 balls to take the team over 200. Renegades started well with the ball but failed to take wickets regularly. Towards the end, Philippe and Silk took the attack on them and they just had no answers. Hatzoglou got two to his name but went for 40 in his 4 while others too were sent all over the park. Eventually, the runs they conceded put them under extra pressure and it ended up being way too much for them.
The Sixers were fantastic with the ball in hand. They were right on the money throughout the Renegades' batting and never gave them any breathing space. It started when Finch lost his wicket early on and only stopped when Richardson, the last batter, was sent back to the hut. The obvious pick of the lot would be Ben Dwarshuis who scalped 4 wickets while conceding just 13 runs in his quota. Every other bowler was good and apart from Benjamin Menanti, they all picked up atleast a wicket. A very satisfying show with the ball for the Sixers.
The run chase never got off fully for the Renegades. They lost their skipper, Finch very early on and after that, it was a complete bottle job from the Renegades. There is not much to say about the batting display by the Men in Red. Only four batters crossed the double digit mark for them while the rest of the team never turned up for the chase. A very sorry show with the bat for the Renegades.
Wow, what a game of cricket we have had! Not what the Renegades would have wanted but they were absymal with the bat in hand and have lost this encounter by a massive 145 runs. Daniel Hughes will certainly be the happier skipper after a great display by the Sixers.
In BBL, the score of 60 all-out by Renegades today is the second lowest total. Also, the 145-run margin victory for Sydney Sixers is the biggest in the history of the tournament.

OUT! TIMBER! That's that! The game has been wrapped up by Ben and the Renegades have been dismissed for just a mere total of 60 runs! Dwarshuis dishes a yorker length ball on the off and middle pole, Kane makes some room and looks for the shot but he does not judge this one well and misses it. The ball, though, does not miss and goes onto rattle the stumps behind him. SYDNEY SIXERS HAVE WON THIS GAME BY 145 RUNS!

PLAY AND A MISS! A full length ball outside off, Kane looks to push this to the off side but misses it altogether.

SIX! A cracking shot by Kane but it will not matter in the grand scheme of the game! On a length on off, Richardson slams this over the wide long on region for a biggie.

Low full toss around off, Holland manages to squeeze to deep point for a single.
DRINKS! The game is well and truly done and dusted! The Renegades have not found their mojo and are 9 wickets down at the halfway stage. They could not get themselves back after losing their skipper early on and have lost the plot leading to more downfall. The Sixers, on the other hand, have been wonderful so far and just need a solitary wicket to finish this game up, which they will do easily.

Play and a miss! The Bash Boost goes to the Sixers. Full and down the leg side, Richardson makes room and looks to slog but makes no connection.

Two more! Fuller and around off, Richardson makes room and hits it over the bowler's head. The long on fielder comes around but can't stop them from taking two again.

Good running! Short and on middle, Kane pulls it wide of the deep square leg fielder for a brace.

Uppish again! Length ball outside off, Holland makes room and looks to go over cover but gets a thick outside edge. It goes uppishly towards third man but bounces well ahead.
