Right then, that's all we have from Super Saturday. It turned out to be a day dominated by Melbourne. Both the teams from this region registered easy wins and have opened their campaign in style. 13th December 2020 will throw our way another couple of matches as Adelaide Strikers will lock horns with Sydney Thunder at 1410 local (0310 GMT) and then later on at 1915 local (0815 GMT), Sydney Sixers will take on Melbourne Renegades. Not the start Perth Scorchers would have hoped for! It was a dismal batting show by them and they never recovered in this match after that. Still, there are a few positives for the Scorchers. Aaron Hardie's batting under pressure was decent while Jason Behrendorff and Jhye Richardson bowled with a lot of pace and variety. Had they struck early in this game, it could have been an interesting chase.
JOSH LALOR IS THE MAN OF THE MATCH! He was exceptional with the ball and finished with three wickets. Here is what he has to say... The left-arm speedster starts by saying that it was a very comfortable win for them in the end. Calls his side a flexible one and tells that they have players who can play multiple roles. Lalor further talks about the options and variety they have which just shows their depth in this season. On Shaun Marsh, Josh replies that he made a tough run-chase look like an easy one. Shares that there is no rest for them as they will be back on Sunday afternoon and he hopes to get another win.
A thumping win for Melbourne Renegades! They were off to a nightmarish start in the last edition but today they have dished out a very, very polished victory. Their bowlers set it up all with a clinical show to restrict Perth Scorchers to a below-par total. Then, the opening stand of 70 runs between Finch and Marsh killed the chase then and there. Shaun Marsh anchored the chase after losing the skipper and there was never a moment they allowed the Perth bowlers to get on top.
