Thisara Perera says it was a gentleman game but feels they gave 20 runs extra or else it would have been a gettable score. Adds they have a good batting group and if it click, they can chase it down. Tells cricket is a funny game, says they’ll look the game together.
This was not the best year for Tigers who won just two matches while two were abandoned due to rain. Capitals on the other hand will look to build on this game and carry on the momentum in the playoffs.
A lot of credit to the Capital bowlers who bowled really well as compared to the Tigers who were just not on the radar throughout the match and conceded too much runs on a pitch which had enough for the bowlers. Abdulla got the ball to turn and so did Yadav. Dhawal Kulkarni got enough swing early on as he took three as well. The Tigers got a couple of starts but no one got the score above 30 which wasn’t enough. Credit to Singh who kept the hopes alive, took the game till the last over and even got a quick fifty but the cameo was too late for the script to be turned.
The last pair batting from Manipal Tigers had made this a decent performance from India Capitals and they have booked their place for the top four whereas Manipal Tigers who were in a similar position like Capitals have to hope Odisha lose their match so that Tigers could make the top four.
