Right then, that is it from our coverage of the match between Manchester Originals and Trent Rockets. It were the Rockets that took home the win in an absolute nail-biter, where the Men's team of the Trent Rockets avenged the loss of their Women's team by winning by a margin of 1 run which is the same as their Women's team lost by. The action from The Hundred doesn’t stop here. We will be back for another action-packed day on the 30th of July when the Headingley Stadium in Leeds hosts the match between Northern Superchargers Women and Southern Brave Women. The first ball will be bowled at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). This match will be followed by the clash of their Men’s teams. That will begin at 11.05 pm IST (5.35 pm GMT) but our coverage for both the games will start much earlier. Do join us to witness a couple of good games of cricket from The Hundred. Until then, goodbye and cheers!
Tom Banton is the Player of the Match for his impactful batting performance scoring 45 off 22 balls. He says that it was a very up-and-down game. Adds that is what the Hundred is about. Mentions that his job at the top is to put the bowlers under pressure. Further says that it is important to respect the good balls and put the bad ones away. Shares that the talk has been to qualify and 2 wins in 2 is a great start.
The Presentation ceremony…
Earlier in the innings we saw the Manchester Originals dominating with the bat early on in the innings and scoring heavily in the Powerplay. However, a disciplined bowling performance by the Trent Rockets restricted the flow of runs towards the end. Tom Banton was the pick of the batters for his explosive knock while Tom Hartley shone out amongst the bowlers with three wickets to his name.
Phil Salt gave a brisk start to Manchester Originals but his wicket followed by the wicket of Matthew Hurst put them a bit under pressure. Max Holden and Wayne Madsen put up a great stand and stabilized the innings before taking the attack to the bowlers. Paul Walter too didn’t leave any stone unturned and kept the momentum going from his very first ball. However, Jamie Overton and Tom Hartley couldn’t make a significant impact and got them under the gun again. Sikandar Raza couldn't see the innings till the end and in the end, even Max Holden succumbed under pressure. They could have easily won the game if not for the quick batting collapses time and again.
The Trent Rockets were put under pressure right from the get-go as Luke Wood was tackled easily in the first set. However, the decision to bring in Sam Cook worked wonders for them as he got rid of two of their top-order batters in quick succession. However, they couldn’t follow it up with further wickets and allowed two good partnerships to be formed. Rashid Khan acted as the saviour on both occasions, getting them back in the game. Imad Wasim too scalped two in quick succession to release some pressure off them. However, the highlight of the day was those final 5 balls by Jordan Thompson. Four runs off the first two and then a dot, which was followed by two wickets sealed the game in their favour.
JORDAN THOMPSON YOU BEAUTY! He has managed to defend 5 runs off the final 5 balls to win this game for his team. The game was almost lost with the way the middle order of the Originals batted but the bowlers' resilience managed to defend it successfully.

OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Jordan Thompson has done it for the Trent Rockets! Thompson is off on a celebratory run. The Manchester Originals cannot believe it! The Rockets have pulled off an absolute heist to win the game by 1 run and have made it two wins out of two. Coming to the delivery, this was dug in short by Thompson, at the batter and got the ball high enough to trouble the batter. Max Holden swivels in his crease as he goes for the pull. Gets this one high on the bat and it goes only as far as deep backward square leg. Excellent captaincy by Lewis Gregory as Sam Hain was brought quite a few yards in off the ropes for the last ball. The ball goes straight down his throat and Hain makes no mistake as he takes a reverse cup catch near his chest.

Scott Currie walks out and will stay at the non-striker's end. He will have to run for his life because they need 2 runs from this final delivery. Nerves all around. A lot of discussion between the bowler and his skipper.
OUT! Is Raza gone? Thompson's initial reaction seems to suggest that the ball may not have been in his hands when he disturbed the stumps. It is referred upstairs. Slower delivery, low full toss, on middle and leg. Sikandar Raza whacks it hard and along the ground. Picks out mid-wicket who is in really tight. Lewis Gregory grabs it cleanly and is quick to release the throw at the bowling end. Raza is scampering across to get to the other end. The replays show that Thompson had the ball in his hands when he disturbed the stumps and Raza is caught short of his crease.  How the tables have turned. 2 runs needed now off the final ball.

Beaten! A crucial dot for the Rockets! Pace on and on a hard length, outside off, the ball kicks off the deck as Sikandar Raza swings to go back over the bowler's head and connects with thin air. He should have gone for the bye. Down to 2 needed off 2.

Two runs more! Loopy delivery, on a fullish length, around off. Sikandar Raza takes it on the full and slaps it to the right of deep cover for a couple of runs. 2 required now off 3.

FOUR! Ungainly but that will do for Sikandar Raza and Manchester Originals! 6 runs needed off 5 balls. It is the Originals' game to lose. Cook bowls it into the deck, around leg. Sikandar Raza swivels for the pull but gets a top edge that goes over short fine leg for a boundary.

Quick single taken! Cook bowls the slower delivery and angles it across, full and near the tramline on of. Max Holden reaches out to go through the off side. Gets a bottom edge and the batters cross as the ball rolls behind to the keeper for a single. Oh hang on, the replays show that Raza was a goner had the underarm throw from the keeper, Tom Banton hit at the batting end

Cook goes for the full delivery but ends up bowling a full toss, on off, Sikandar Raza dabs it to backward point for one. 11 needed off 7 now.
