That is it from the first of the double header. The action in PSL 6 continues as Peshawar Zalmi take on Quetta Gladiators in the second game of the day. That game begins at 2000 local (1500 GMT). Join us for that one. Till then goodbye!
Man of the Match and winning captain, Mohammad Rizwan says that It happens with the grace of almighty. He praises his bowlers. Further says that they worked on their death bowling and today they got the results. He mentions that they cannot relax with just one win but it was the death bowling which cost us the previous games and today it was achieved and then they showed it in the batting. He says that delivering as a team is important which they failed in the previous games but today they gave their best in all the departments to earn this win.
Lahore Qalandars skipper, Sohail Akthar feels they were 20 runs short and admits they fielded poorly. Tells they are looking for a spinner to replace Rashid as his departure has affected them. Tells the tried to use pace bowlers in a hope to get something off the deck.
Man of the moment Sohaib Maqsood is down for a chat. Maqsood says that the Powerplay was important as they scored enough runs in the first 6 overs. He mentions that Rizwan's shot making allowed him to settle in. He says that he does not know why teams have won chasing but mentions that chasing is easy. He ends by saying that with the scores of 197 being chased then the teams would rely on chasing.
It just was not Lahore Qalandars day as they lost the toss to begin with and barring Hafeez there was hardly anything right about them today as they could get only a paltry score of 157. Brathwaite was the star with the ball finishing with 2/20 from his 4 which also included a maiden.
For Lahore, Shaheen began well but that was it! They then bowled poorly, fielded even poorly. A few dropped chances and quite a few rash deliveries which let the Multan batters score freely. They were quite under par today in all three departments and have been outplayed.
An easy win for Multan in the end! To be honest 158 was never going to be a challenging total and the Sultans have made a mockery of the run chase. They did lose Vince and Lynn early but Rizwan and Maqsood joined association and with a 100-plus run stand took their side home. Yes, Rizwan was fortunate on a few occasions but take nothing away from his innings. A complete performance to be honest from Multan.
