That is it from this game! The next match is between Chennai and Delhi which will be played in Dubai on 25th September, 2020. Join us at 1800 local (1400 GMT). Till then, take care and cheers!
KL Rahul, the Punjab skipper, is named the Man of the Match. He says it is a very complete performance and he is too pleased with the performance. States that he has not been very confident during the practice sessions, he had a word with Maxwell where he said he is not that confident with the bat. Mentions till the time the game starts he tries to act as a player and only during the toss he thinks like a captain. Further adds they knew they needed to take wickets early as Bangalore have a strong batting line-up and their plans worked well. Also adds Bishnoi has impressed him a lot, he has a lot of fight in him and once he got through that first over, he was excellent.
Mohammed Shami says he is trying to fulfil the responsibilities he has got. Further adds he looks to hit the right lengths and get the batsman out. States they are too pleased with the win, they have a better side than the last year. Further says that they are eager to do well in this tournament. Ends by saying his length and line will depend on the wicket. As he says that when there is moisture he bowls fuller and if it is dry he looks to bowl it a bit shorter, he though would look to hit the short of a good length area at Sharjah.
Virat Kohli, the Bangalore skipper, says that he is disappointed with the performance. Adds that a couple of vital chances which were put down by him cost them big time. Mentions that it was a bad day for them and they will look to do better. Kohli says they wanted to send Philippe up the order as it gives them more depth in the middle order and also he has been batting at the top in the domestic circuit. Admits today they did not play well and they need to put this behind, learn from their mistakes and look forward.
The Punjab bowlers were just amazing with the ball today. Cottrell and Shami set the stage first up with removing the top order and then it was just a matter of time when the spinners took over the mantle. Ravi Bishnoi, Murugan Ashwin shared 6 wickets between them as Cottrell took a couple which also included the wicket of Virat Kohli. Shami once again was brilliant as he took a wicket. Also Maxwell had one to his name. James Neesham did well in his two overs too.
An authoritative win for Punjab in the end! For Punjab, it was always going to be an uphill task for them after conceding 200 runs. It became improbable for them after they lost 3 quick wickets inside 10 overs. Failure of ABD and Finch meant that it was all over for Bangalore. What was more disappointing is that none of the batters looked to settle into the game as Bangalore were all out with 3 overs to spare.

He bowls a leg spinner on middle, Chahal goes for the sweep, the ball spins away and strikes him adjacent in front of the stumps. There is an appeal and the umpire gives it out. OUT! Foxed by the googly! That's from the class of Anil Kumble. A googly on off, Saini looks to go inside out here but fails to read the delivery as the ball goes between the bat and pad to crash into the leg pole. If the top order batsmen cannot pick it them what to expect from the bowlers.

Tossed up on off, Steyn looks to defend but gets beaten. He is rapped on the pads and there is an appeal from the bowler but nothing from the umpire.
