The rain has been relentless over the last couple of days in Surat and even though things are better at the moment, the ground has taken a lot of water and won't be ready in time for play. The ground staff put in the effort and the umpires tried their best too, but unfortunately, we have a false start in Surat.

UPDATE - 6.52 pm IST (1.22 pm GMT) - There is not much to report about from the ground apart from the fact that there is a break in rain at the moment in Surat. Conditions would have to stay just like this for a while for the ground staff to get the ground ready but for now, this delay is a prolonged one. Stay tuned as we bring you the latest updates.
