That is it then from this game and also from the Karachi leg of the competition. There is still one more game left on Super Sunday as Lahore Qalandars take on Peshawar Zalmi in Lahore and that game will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). You can switch tabs and catch the early build-up for that one as well. Cheers!
Karachi Kings captain, Imad Wasim says that the crowd has been superb in the tournament and reckons that they played really well. Adds that if they bat and bowl according to their plans, they are a tough side to beat and in this game everything was perfect. Adds that this is the opportunity Tayyab Tahir has to grab and everyone is aware of his talent and he did bat pretty well and on being asked about Tabraiz Shamsi, he says that Shamsi is one of the best bowlers in the world and he showed his class in this game.
Mohammad Rizwan, the skipper of Multan Sultans says that they played well and lauds the bowlers for pulling things back and they should have chased it down. Reckons that the opposition bowlers picked up wickets and they were unable to handle the pressure with the bat. Mentions that win or loss is a part of the process but no match should be taken lightly.
Tabraiz Shamsi (4-0-18-3) is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his match-winning figures. He says that it was a long wait but they have to look at the best combination that works for the team. Adds that the surface was slow and you still have to bowl well and his work was made easy by the ones who bowled before him. On being asked about his phone dialing celebration, Shamsi says that every game he looks to imitate calling someone of the other.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and he put Karachi Kings into bat which Imad Wasim was more than happy to do. James Vince and Matthew Wade got them off to a flier with the former looking in fine form. Once Vince got out, Tayyab Tahir, the young man came in and played a bit of a gem of an inning as he scored a half-century and relieved pressure off Wade's shoulders. Multan Sultans, especially Ihsanullah pulled things back pretty well though but skipper Imad Wasim ensured that Karachi Kings got to a defendable score. Coming to the chase, after a solid start, Multan Sultans got tangled into the web spun by the Karachi Kings spinners and in the end, they were defeated quite easily.
Multan Sultans, the top side in the competition, have been humbled here and to be honest, their batters had no answer for the spin of Karachi Kings. It was a good start though by Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan with the former striking the ball cleanly. Once Masood fell though, Rizwan couldn't get more of the strike and got bogged down at one end before falling prey to Shoaib Malik. The rest of the batters simply didn't turn up and were picked off one by one by the opposition's bowlers and they will now look to bounce back from thisn hammering and get back to winning ways next time around.
What a turnaround this has been for Karachi Kings as their spinners have completely domianted the Multan Sultans batters and the Kings are able to get revenge for their narrow loss a few days back against the same opposition. The Kings had a good total on the board and given it was an afternoon game, the ball was bound to turn in the second innings. Their bowlers though were simply outstanding with the likes of Shoaib Malik and Tabraiz Shamsi standing out. It was their spell in the middle overs that got the wickets for the Kings and they both ended up with 3 wickets each. Skipper Imad Wasim was expensive but got a couple of wickets as did their pacer Akif Javed who bowled pretty well too. Karachi Kings will now look to build on this confidence-boosting win.

OUT! LBW! That's it, its all over! Shoaib Malik bowls this one shorter and on off stump, turning it in. Abbas Afridi tries to shuffle across and pulls it away but misses and gets wrapped on the pads, right in front as well. There is an appeal for lbw and it is given out! Abbas Afridi though does review it. The UltraEdge is checked first and there's no bat involved. Ball Tracking comes up witn three reds and that's the game for Karachi Kings. The Kings win by 66 runs!

Full again at the stumps, Abbas Afridi goes for the big heave but mistimes it badly. The ball goes high and around the wide mid on region. Two fielders from the deep converge but can't get to it. They don't take the single either.

Excellent bumper! Akif Javed bangs one in over the leg stump and around hemlet height. Ihsanullah gets in an awkward position but manages to duck under it.

Shortish length over middle and leg, Ihsanullah backs away and has a little dab at it but is beaten on the outside edge.

OUT! CAUGHT! Anwar Ali now holes out as well and Karachi Kings are just a wicket away from victory. Akif Javed comes from over the wicket and bowls it full and outside the off stump. Anwar Ali goes after it and tries to force the lofted shot over extra cover. Ali ends up slicing it over the cover region. Aamer Yamin runs in from the deep and takes a good running catch.
