That is it! We are done with the first semi-final and the second will be on its way soon. The next semi-final will be played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Zouks. The Knight Riders will be waiting to know who they are going to face in the final. The second semi-final will begin at 1730 local (2130 GMT). Join us for that game! Till then, take care and cheers!
Kieron Pollard, Knight Riders skipper, says he is feeling pleased with the victory. Adds that the final is still left and they have to come after 48 hours to play better cricket. Pollard says that 16 overs of spin was because he wanted the Tallawahs batsmen to play the shots. Praises Hosein for his exceptional bowling. Mentions they have played fantastic cricket throughout the tournament.
Rovman Powell, Tallawahs skipper, says that they lost 4 wickets in the Powerplay and that was a major issue for them. Adds that the batsmen should have batted responsibly and should have applied themselves. Mentions they played inconsistent cricket today. Praises the performances of Edwards and Russell and finishes by wishing him luck for the IPL.
Akeal Hosein is named the Man of the Match. He starts by saying that it is a great feeling that he gave his 100 percent. Adds that it was fun to bowl with the new ball and it was executing and bowling in the right areas. Hosein also says that he is glad that his performance came off today.
Earlier in the day, Knight Riders bowlers bowled very well and Akeal Hosein was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 3 wickets. He was well supported by Narine, Pierre and Ahmed. Simmons and Webster did well with the bat to take Trinbago into the finals. Stay tuned for the presentation.
Tallawahs needed wickets in clusters but they got only one. After that it was a no show from their bowlers. It was a very small total to defend for the bowlers and you cannot blame them. The batsmen should have taken the responsibility. Only Nkrumah Bonner was the highest scorer for them. Powell played well for his 33 but it was not enough for them to score big.
It has been a cakewalk for the Knight Riders then! They never looked in trouble during the chase. They lost Narine early but Simmons and Webster finished the run chase and were unbeaten till the end. Knight Riders kept the record of being unbeaten in this tournament.
