Right then, that's all we have from this match! India have jumped to the top of the points table in Group A and are looking like the team to beat. Tuesday will be a rest day/travelling day for the teams. Do join us on 26th February for the matches involving England, Thailand, West Indies and Pakistan. The first of the double-header will kick off at 1500 local (0400 GMT). Looking forward to your company then. Cheers!
Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain, says that Shafali and Richa did really well and that shows how good they are. Praises Krishnamurthy's effort with the bat and tells that when she went to the middle, India needed quick runs and she provided that. On Smriti Mandhana's chance of making into the Indian side for their next game, the Indian skipper tells that they've got a few days before that game and Mandhana has recovered well. Tells that team wants to take one game at a time and continue performing similarly in their coming games.
Salma Khatun, the Bangladeshi captain, says that they didn't bowl well in the Powerplay. Tells that the fielding was not good. Adds that their side hasn't played many games under lights but they will try to do well in the next game.
SHAFALI VERMA IS NAMED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. She says that since there was no Mandhana, she wanted to take the responsibility and stay till the end. On her see the ball, hit the ball approach, Verma says that she practices all these shots. Tells that she wants to bat well and help India win more games.
In pursuit, Bangladesh required a quickfire start but it never came. Murshida Khatun and Sanjida Islam constructed a partnership but the batters who followed failed to make any use of it. Nigar Sultana top-scored for them but her innings never threatened India. The Indian bowlers picked wickets at regular intervals and always maintained the upper hand. Every bowler was impressive but the standout one was once again Poonam Yadav. Her extra slow flighted deliveries are turning out to be too hot to handle. Shikha Pandey, too, was right on the money and did her job efficiently at the start and in the death. Stay tuned for the presentation...
A comprehensive victory for India! Yet another professional show by them as they've easily outclassed their Asian neighbours. The Blue team was clinical with the bat in the Powerplay and then despite losing the plot mid-way, they pumped their score to 142 - the highest in this edition of the tournament, so far. Shafali Verma once again was the superstar as she provided a rollicking start to the Indian innings.

OUT! CAUGHT! There is a spike on Ultra Edge. This is a smart, smart decision from the Indians. They were not too sure about taking it upstairs but at the last moment they took the gamble and it paid off. Another very slower ball outside off, Islam looks to slog sweep but she misses. The keeper collects the ball and whips the bails off and appeals for stumping. But nothing from the umpires. Kaur gets towards the bowler and at the very last moment, they signal the 'T'. The replays roll in and brings ecstasy in the Indian camp.
India have taken a caught behind decision upstairs after the umpire declines the appeal. At the very last second, Kaur signals for the DRS. Is there a bottom edge? Ultra Edge detects one.

We are back for the run chase! The Indian players are out in the middle. Shamima Sultana and Murshida Khatun are the two openers for Bangladesh. Deepti Sharma with the ball first up. One slip in place. Here we go...
Right then, India have the bowling to defend this total but they cannot afford to take it lightly. A good start for Bangladesh will surely put them under pressure. Let's hope for a riveting chase. Do join us in a short while.
Jemimah Rodrigues is caught for a quick chat. Says that it's a decent score, not a winning one but they have a good bowling and fielding unit, so she's confident of defending the total. Wants her bowlers to bowl in the right areas and stick to the basics. On Shafali Verma's batting, Jemimah replies that she is a fearless character and something for all of them to learn. Quick wickets and dot balls, that's the recipe for success as far as Jemimah Rodrigues is concerned.
Bangladesh's bowling was below par at the start but they grew well as the game progressed. Skipper Salma Khatun was brilliant in her spell of 4 overs while Panna Ghosh, too, impressed by dismissing Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur. Their overall effort post the Powerplay has to be commended although they would have loved to keep India under 125 on this surface.
It all started with Salma Khatun's decision to invite India to bat first! Shafali Verma once again batted like a train on fire and provided a rollicking start. Jemimah Rodrigues also lent a useful hand but once both got dismissed, they struggled with the rotation of strike and also in finding the boundaries. Towards the end, Veda Krishnamurthy's little cameo helped them to get a score above 135.
Just 5 runs from the last over and that has stopped the Indian charge at the death! The Blue team had collected 23 from the two overs leading to the 20th but a brilliant final over by Jahanara Alam made sure that India didn't cross the psychological 150-run mark.

Dropped! A simple chance but Panna spills it. Full and outside off, Pandey lofts it over cover-point. There is no timing on this one. It goes towards Ghosh at sweeper cover where she comes forward and gets to the ball but it does not stick in her palms. A couple taken.

NOT OUT! Impact is outside off, so Krishnamurthy can stay and smash a few more. A brilliant ball from Jahanara though. It is a superb yorker from her. Krishnamurthy tries to dig it out but she misses. She is struck on the pads. Alam appeals but not out says the umpire. This being the last over, Bangladesh go for the review. The replays roll in and show no involvement of bat first. Then the Ball Tracker comes and it shows that the impact is well outside off, so Krishnamurthy stays.
LBW appeal taken upstairs. Veda Krishnamurthy is the batter in question. The front foot is fine. There is no bat involved. Where's the impact? Outside off it is, so Krishnamurthy survives.

OUT! Deepti Sharma is run out! Complete hara-kiri! Full and flighted around off, Sharma sweeps it to deep mid-wicket and crosses for a run. Veda Krishnamurthy wants the second and straightaway rushes out for it. Sharma decides to respond but slips while turning. She then chooses to return while Veda keeps on running at the non-striker's end. The throw comes to the keeper who breaks the stumps immediately. Someone is definitely out but who is that someone is the question. The replays roll in and show that both batters are contesting for the same crease. It's touch and go, Deepti has the advantage of putting in the dive whereas Veda is the beneficiary of having a good head start. Whose bat is in first? Aahhhh...by a whisker, it's Veda who has won the race. Disappointed Deepti returns. India losing the plot.
Appeal for a run out! One of the batters is definitely out but who? Both are contesting to reach the same crease. Complete miscommunication. Deepti Sharma has lost the race to Veda Krishnamurthy and is gone.

Players from both the sides walk out to the middle for their respective national anthems before the action begins.
Pitch report - The square boundaries are quite short and hitting with the wind will be easy. The odd ball will grip and the seamers might get something out of it. Overall, it's a good cricketing surface.
India (Playing XI) - Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh (In for Smriti Mandhana), Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Deepti Sharma, Veda Krishnamurthy, Shikha Pandey, Taniya Bhatia (WK), Arundhati Reddy, Poonam Yadav, Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain, says that, she wanted to bat anyway as she wants to put a big total on the board. Tells that the last game was a good start and it sets the tone for the tournament. Reveals that Mandhana is not playing as she has viral fever and Richa Ghosh replaces her.
Salma Khatun, the Bangladeshi captain, tells that the side is pretty confident after their warm-up games. On their recent win against India in the recently concluded tri-series, Khatun says that it was an excellent series for them. Tells that it is a big first game and they will try to do their best.
Toss - Up goes the coin and it falls in favour of Salma Khatun. She initially says that they will bat first but then changes her decision, so BANGLADESH WILL FIELD!
Time for the second match of the evening and it's involving two Asian teams - India and Bangladesh! The venue remains the same in Perth and we are expecting a great game. The Girls in Blue were magnificent as they thumped the defending champions in their tournament opener. Their confidence will be sky high at the moment and they will be eyeing a ruthless outing against their neighbours. For Bangladesh, they would like to start with a bang and upset India. Looking at their squad, bowling appears to be the stronger suit while the batting is thin on experience. Still, they have some quality players in Rumana Ahmed, Nahida Akhter, Ritu Moni, Ayesha Rahman and Fargana Haque and they would be hopeful of putting up a brilliant show. Stay tuned for more updates...
