Wondering who is the Man of the Match? We won't blame you! It was such an engrossing game that Mujeeb Ur Rahman's 5-wicket haul got overshadowed. Anyway, the Afghan has bagged the award for his incredible effort. He had Hobart Hurricanes on the mat with his stupendous bowling, especially at the death and deserved to be acknowledged despite his team losing.
Credit should be given to both teams and this was one such game where no one deserved to lose. At one point of time, Super Over also crossed our minds but Scott Boland delivered a pinpoint last over and Hobart Hurricanes won the dramatic contest by the barest of margins.
Max Bryant and Lewis Gregory then led a recovery with their partnership and the Heat needed 7 off 9 balls for the Bash Boost point. With the momentum starting to move in their direction, Hobart immediately reacted by removing Bryant and snatched one point then and there. Post that, the batting depth of Brisbane was on show as James Bazley formed an alliance with skipper Jimmy Peirson to rebuild the innings. The 20-run over by Keemo Paul once again proved to be the momentum shifting one but as was the case in this topsy turvy game, Hobart dismissed Peirson when 35 runs were needed off 30 balls and the match took another turn.
If you want to promote T20 cricket in any part of the world, show them this match! It wasn't a high-scoring one. In fact, Hobart Hurricanes managed a below-par total as per the experts. That's why the start of the run chase was going to be very crucial for them. The Hurricanes bowlers didn't disappoint. Once again the reliable duo of pace and movement, Riley Meredith and Scott Boland, pegged Brisbane Heat back very early in the match. Reduced to 8 for 3, it became a contest where the Heat started to target for the Bash Boost.
Phew! What a game of Twenty20! Plenty of twists and turns! Both teams wrestled hard to keep the momentum on their side but eventually, Hobart Hurricanes managed to hang on to it by the skin of their teeth.

OUT! The airborne bat proves to be the difference in the end. HOBART HURRICANES WIN BY 1 RUN! Boland comes up with a low full toss around off, Steketee forces it towards covers and they cross. Ingram fumbles slightly but then recovers in time to score a direct hit at the bowler's end. Mark puts in a dive and the Hurricanes appeals. Is his bat in the air? YESSSS! That's the case in the replay. What a finish!
Is it a run out? Or not? Is the bat in the air? Will we have a Super Over? It's close, very close. BAT IS IN THE AIR! Hobart win!

TWO RUNS! Slower short ball around leg, Steketee hops back and pulls it wide of long on. 2 needed now off the last ball. One for the Super Over.

DOT NOW! 4 needed off 2 balls. Boland dishes out a slower length ball around off, Steketee hangs on the back foot, picks it late and only manages to push it back to the bowler.

Boland chooses to bowl from 'round the wicket and delivers a full ball on the pads, Bazley whips it wide of short fine leg for ONLY A RUN.
Scott Boland to bowl the last over. 7 needed off 6 balls and the good thing for Brisbane Heat is that Bazley will be on strike.

A dot to finish! Brilliant over from Ellis under pressure! He bowls once again outside off and keeps it fuller too, Mark looks to play it on the leg side but gets nothing on the bat as the keeper collects it.

Ellis continues bowling that wide line as Mark this time looks to lay bat on ball but fails to execute it.

WIDE! An extra at this point. Wide Yorker goes wrong as Mark this time lets it be. Wided by the umpire.
