1265 flag safari Melbourne Renegades
147/10(19.1ov)
1264 flag safari Hobart Hurricanes
148/3(19.1ov)

Hobart Hurricanes beat Melbourne Renegades by 7 wickets

A comfortable victory in the end. Never looked like they were in trouble, barring that one over from Tom Cooper, where he struck twice. D'Arcy Short set the tone with a composed 60 while Ben McDermott ensured that there was no collapse after his stand of 74 with Short was broken. His unbeaten 51 saw the Hurricanes home safely and they move up the ladder to third spot.

EDGED, VICTORY! Full and wide outside off, McDermott throws his bat at it and gets a thick outside edge which flies past short third man! The umpire initially signals a boundary but Tom Cooper and Kane Richardson signal to the umpire that the batsmen crossed. So the umpire changes his decision and it will be a single. HOBART HURRICANES WIN BY 7 WICKETS!
Just one needed from the final over.

148 to win then. Good pitch, a not-so-good bowling attack. At least, not yet. A hat-trick of losses consigned to the Renegades? Stay tuned to find out.
The Hurricanes usually bowl well and they did not disappoint. Faulkner, Ellis and Meredith were up to their variations, picking up 3 wickets apiece while Qais Ahmad was economical too. Only Clive Rose was the odd man out, else the Renegades might have been stuck on 120.
The innings started badly for the Reds, losing Sam Harper on the third ball but Aaron Finch, playing his 50th BBL game as skipper and Shaun Marsh got them back on track. The stand was 74 when Marsh got out but Finch soldiered on. He got to his half century and set up a wonderful platform with the score reading 109 in the 14th over. But once he departed, the scoreboard nosedived and at one stage, where 175 was looking gettable, even 150 could not be reached.
That is a massive collapse. From 109/2 to 147 all out - 8/38 in 36 balls. The Renegades have hit themselves right on their foot after Finchy's departure.
