Adelaide Strikers beat Brisbane Heat by 2 runs

JIMMY PEIRSON IS NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH! So that is it from this game! No Big Bash for a couple of days now as it resumes directly on Saturday. A double-header as Thunder take on the Renegades followed by the Sixers taking on the Stars. Do join us for that at 1810 local (0710 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Not a lot you can write about the Heat batting! They were bullied by the Strikers' spinners. Had it not been for their skipper, the margin of defeat would have been a big one but he along with Mujeeb who also played a handy cameo, took them close. At one stage, it looked like the skipper would do the impossible but he fell short by not a lot.
The game actually came to life after the Power Surge was taken in the second innings. They were down when it began and the run rate needed seemed well out of reach. However, 43 in those two overs and 14 in the next just got them back into the game. 23 was needed in the last three but Siddle, Worrall and Agar kept their cool and ensured their side came on top.
What a game! What an innings from Peirson! Take a bow. Yes, his effort does go in vain but he made his side believe till the very last ball from a stage where they looked gone for all money.

Worral to bowl the last over! 13 needed. Have to believe Peirson will be facing almost all of the six balls. Who will hold their nerve?
