India Women gave a very tough fight. At one stage, they were on top as they had England on the mat but they could not keep up the pressure and they faltered. Jhulan Goswami bowled a terrific spell while Shikha Pandey was good as well in her outing while the spinners gave it their all but in vain. Their fielding was good apart from a misfield here and there. In the end, they could not apply too much pressure on Brunt and Dunkley and they were handed a series defeat. Stay tuned for the presentation ceremony!
England did not start off too well as they lost their player-in-form, Tammy Beaumont early. Heather Knight could not do much while Lauren Winfield got dismissed after a start. Natalie Sciver looked good but she fell and England were in deep trouble. Sophia Dunkley though had other plans as she first joined hands with Amy Jones and then Katherine Brunt, the latter turned into a match-winning partnership, to take England home. Dunkley showed tremendous nerves and England have unearthed a star in Dunkley.
End of a very good match! India Women tried hard but Sophia Dunkley and Katherine Brunt managed to held their nerves and stay till the end to take the series with one game to spare. They will be pleased that they have won the series while India would be disappointed. They did show some fight but it was not to be for them.
