Sylhet Strikers beat Chattogram Challengers by 8 wickets
Right then, that is it from the first game of the BPL. Sylhet Strikers have registered a comprehensive win against the Chattogram Challengers. Mashrafe Mortaza, the victorious captain of Sylhet Strikers says that it was very important that they won the toss and that everything went according to plan. Adds that winning the toss was important for them and the young lads from their teams did amazing. Ends by saying that Amir has been their champion for a very long time and Raja has been bowling brilliantly.
Rejaur Rahman is the player of the match for his brilliant figures of (4-0-14-4). He says that he is pretty happy with his performance and he focused on bowling in the right line and lengths. Adds that the wicket also helped a bit and credits his team to giving him the confidence and opportunity.
Shuvagata Hom the skipper of Chattogram Challengers says that they didn't start well and the pitch got better later on. Adds that their bowlers tried to get early wickets but failed and they will come back stronger in the next game. Ends by saying that they have got the hang of the pitch and they will do better in their next game.

Earlier in the game, Chattogram Challengers had a disappointing performance with the blade and could just manage to put 89 runs on the board and lost 9 wickets. Sylhet Strikers were excellent with the ball right from the word go and took wickets at regular intervals. Rejaur Rahman was the pick of the bowlers with his four wickets and giving away just 14 runs in his four overs.
It was an absolutely abysmal performance from the Chattogram Challengers and they will want to leave this loss behind. They just failed to bowl on a tight length and lost the grip of the game. They had an early wicket but couldn't break the second-wicket partnership. They did manage to get Zakir Hasan later on in the game but the damage was already done. Malinda Pushpakumara and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury bagged one wicket each for their team.
Sylhet Strikers exceptional work has handed them victory and they never looked in trouble from the start. Colin Ackermann lost his wicket early on but the unbreakable stand from Najmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan got them a perfect start to the league. Zakir Hasan did lose his wicket later on in the game but the job was already done. They stitched a partnership of 63 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim came on after that and finished the job alongside Najmul Hossain Shanto.
