Sophie Devine, the winning skipper of Birmingham Phoenix Women says that the bowlers executed the plan really well. Says Amy Jones and Perry did well to chase this down. Tells that 130-140 was par but they bowled really well. Shares that their bowling and fielding were outstanding. There was a lot of energy and the players are owning their position. Says Perry is a fantastic cricketer. There is a lot of criticism around her in the shortest format of the game but she is in good form in the last couple of games. On facing Alana King, she says it is a good match-up but they think about it before the game. Says she is impressed with the group. She met them last week but there is confidence in the group and the players are making her job easier. Says it is important to keep winning.
Amy Jones is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her unbeaten knock of 44 from just 32 balls. She tells that it felt quite difficult as Trent Rockets bowled very tight but once she got a couple of boundaries, she felt comfortable. She appreciates Perry's knock and says she has loads of experience. Credits the bowlers and Emily Arlott to restrict the Rockets below par. Admits their fielding was excellent as well. Says this win was huge to keep their momentum and hopes to win every game.
Time for some interviews...
Earlier in the game, Birmingham Phoenix bowlers bowled superbly to keep Trent Rockets batters under check. Emily Arlott was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets while apart from Elyse Villani and Sciver all other Trent Rockets batters failed to step up in this game. They were below par maybe by 20 runs with the bat and that made all the difference in the end.
Trent Rockets Women bowlers tried hard but they were below-par with the bat and that really cost them. They had their moments with the ball when they got two early wickets but the experienced pair of Perry and Amy Jones took the game away from them as they paced this chase perfectly.
The pitch was a bit tacky and slow and Birmingham Phoenix batters found it tough to get going initially. They lost both their openers as they tried to up the ante. However, Amy Jones and Ellyse Perry went about their business very cleverly after that as they took their time at the start and then accelerated at the right time to finish off a clinical chase with a superb 78-run stand.
A comprehensive win for Birmingham Phoenix Women! The target was not a big one but the pitch was a bit tricky. However, they had some experienced heads in their line-up and that meant that despite losing early wickets, they managed to win this one quite comfortably in the end.

SIX! ALL THE WAY! Best shot of the match! Short in length and around off, sits nicely for Perry who gets on the back foot and thumps it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie. Perry had all the time in the world. Run-a-ball needed now.
