Rajasthan Royals star Jos Buttler hurt his finger in the game against the Punjab Kings.
He may not be able to play in the next game against the Delhi Capitals. Notably, he hurt the little finger on his left hand, which needed several stitches. Because of this, he couldn’t bat in his preferred spot as the opener.
Ravichandran Ashwin, a spin wizard, was moved up in order to make up for his absence, but the plan didn’t quite work out because the 36-year-old was sent back to the pavilion in the fourth over of Rajastha’s chase. Jos came in at number three and hit a four and a six. He was doing well until Nathan Ellis beat him in the last over of the power play.
Jos Buttler, who won the award for the best catch in the game, came to get his money with a white strapping on his finger. According to a report from The Times of India, he might not be able to recover and play another game in just 72 hours. This means that RR’s management can let him rest for their next game against David Warner’s team.
By five runs, PBKS beat RR.
Punjab Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by five runs to win their second straight IPL 2023 match. This was thanks to their great bowling. Shikhar Dhawan, the captain, set a good example with the bat, and Nathan Ellis took four wickets to break up the RR batting unit.
But after the game, PBKS captain Dhawan said that there were some scary moments, especially with the way Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer batted at the end of the game.
“There were times when I was nervous, but I kept my cool and so did the bowlers. A lot of dew was there. They did a fantastic job. I was pleased with how we did. “They bowled well and had some great yorkers,” said Dhawan after the game.
“Scoring 197 and then my bowlers coming in and getting early wickets and keeping the pressure on, and then Nathan came on and got wickets. We never gave up control of the game. There were some hard parts, but I think we did a great job as a team,” he said.
