In the first T20I match against Ireland, India’s Ravi Bishnoi spoke candidly about speedster Jasprit Bumrah long-awaited return to international competition. Bumrah wasn’t able to play in competition for about 11 months due to a reoccurring back problem, during which time he was forced to sit on the sidelines.
As he recovered from his surgery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, the pacer notably skipped the World Test Championship final, the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Asia Cup 2022, and multiple bilateral series for team India.
The Indian cricket fans had been waiting impatiently for Jasprit Bumrah comeback, and he lived up to the hype by coming out swinging, taking two wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs with an astounding economy of 6.00. Spinner Bishnoi acknowledged his happiness about Jasprit Bumrah comeback to the lineup and seeing his impressive performance against the Irish team in the first T20I.
The entire world is aware of the type of bowler he is. It was his first game following a lengthy absence. His initial delivery didn’t go well, but the subsequent five balls were entertaining to watch.
Bishnoi was quoted by India Today as saying, “Everyone was eager to see this Jasprit Bumrah, and it was fun to see him bowl.
In addition to Bumrah, Bishnoi and speedster Prasidh Krishna each took two wickets to end the opposing batting effort for a pitiful total of 139 runs in their 20 overs. Before the match came to an end due to heavy rain, the Men in Blue managed to score 47 runs in 6.5 overs during the run chase.
This gave India, under Bumrah’s leadership, a two-run victory (using the DLS technique). Notably, India seized a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series because to Bumrah’s encouraging return to the national side, which earned him Match MVP honors. In the second T20I, which is slated to be played on Sunday, August 20, at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin, India will want to establish a commanding advantage.
