David Warner, captain of the Delhi Capitals, praised Ishant Sharma for his outstanding performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Notably, he was recovering from illness for an extended period of time and, as a result, was not included in DC’s starting lineup for the initial contests. On his return, however, Ishant Sharma took two wickets and allowed only 19 runs in four overs as DC defeated KKR by four wickets.
As a result of his outstanding bowling performance, KKR struggled to get moving with the bat, scoring only 127 runs. Consequently, Warner expressed his admiration for his colleague on his Instagram account. He also mentioned that it is never simple to perform under pressure, but that the team’s victory over KKR was a direct result of their desire to improve during each training session.
“We have scored, and I could not be more proud of the lads’ comeback. Under duress is never simple, but the desire to improve with each training session will always pay off. This was an outstanding performance by @ishant.sharma29, who returned from a week of illness with such vigor. After DC’s first triumph of the IPL 2023 season, Warner posted on Instagram, “Hyderabad, here we come!”

Ishant Sharma was named Player of the Match against KKR on account of his outstanding performance. During the postgame press conference, the 34-year-old made it clear that he intends to help DC win the remaining games and ultimately claim the prestigious championship.
“I was simply awaiting my opportunity. I desired to win a game for the team whenever I had the opportunity. Depending on your plans (when asked if he had specific plans for a particular batter). Time is of the essence when executing your plans. The team contains no fortunate charm. Ishant, cited by Cricbuzz, stated that from this point forward, the team’s objective is to win every game, qualify for the tournament, and, ideally, win it.
