Two sets of elite players will be up for grabs at the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, or BCCI, recently announced to the IPL (Indian Premier League) clubs. It is important to remember that the massive auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah.
The teams have been notified by the BCCI that two marquee lists with eight to nine players per set will be displayed. Intriguingly, the 2022 mega auction featured just one pair of well-known players. Additionally, two sets of lists were used for the big auctions in 2014 and 2018.
It is anticipated that the marquee player list will include a number of well-known individuals. According to, players like Jos Buttler, Mitchell Starc, Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant are anticipated to attend.
In order to acquire at least two big names, the teams are expected to have spent between 30 and 50 percent of their budget by the end of the first two games. Each star player has also set a starting price of INR 2 crore.
Additionally, it is anticipated that the BCCI will announce the marquee list order in the coming days. In all, the BCCI distributed 1,574 names. Of the 1574 players registered, 409 are from outside the country, and 1165 are from India.
The teams had until November 12 to submit names they would want to see on the list of top players, as requested by the BCCI.
