The Delhi Caps have not fared well in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) thus far. As their blue-eyed kid, Rishabh Pant, made his much-anticipated return, the franchise had great expectations. They have reached the bottom of the points table, though, so their luck does not appear to be improving. They have only won one game out of five games played, and they are currently ranked tenth.

They have to win the final seven games out of the nine to have any chance of making the playoffs. If they can secure seven victories, they’ll rack up 16 points and be serious playoff contenders. Even if things don’t go as planned, they can still be competitive if they win six of their next nine games. Notably, a 106-run defeat to the Kolkata Knight Riders badly damaged their net run rate. Given their NRR of -1.370, qualifying would be a difficult journey if they could only get 14 points.
The Punjab Kings defeated DC by four wickets in their first IPL 2024 match.
With a 12-run win, the raiding Rajasthan Royals crushed them even more. Surprisingly enough, the Delhi team defeated the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings by a score of 20 runs. In the ensuing games, though, they were unable to maintain their winning momentum. The greatest blow of the season for the Pant-led team came against KKR, a 106-run loss.
DC will try to defeat LSG and resume its winning ways.
With the Mumbai Indians reeling from a loss, DC showed up for their fifth game in great spirits. Nevertheless, MI defeated the visitors by 29 runs, as the 234-run target proved to be too much for them. On April 12, DC will visit the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow to play the Lucknow Super Giants. They’ll be aiming to return to their former winning ways. For those who don’t know, the head coach of DC said that the loss to KKR had almost disgraced him.
