On the first day of the second Test against South Africa, Team India experienced an exhilarating day. The Indian squad entered the match hoping for a strong showing in the second Test after losing the previous one, and they did not disappoint.
The Indian team started the second Test with a bang, blowing out South Africa for a mere 55 runs. With six outstanding wickets and a devastating blow to the Proteas batting attack, Mohammed Siraj was the standout of the Indian opening innings.
The team was unable to sustain its bowling prowess when the visitors took the batting. The remaining batsmen were unable to score much after Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Rohit Sharma’s efforts. From 153/4 to all-out on the same score, that was Team India.
After the show, former Indian cricket player Ravi Shastri made some amusing remarks on television. Shastri, a member of the commentary team, said that considering how swiftly it transpired, India has been bundled out like someone went for a poo and is just returning.
“If someone goes around the corner for a dump and comes back, India has been bowled out for 153,” added Shastri.

In the second inning, South Africa hopes to get better.
South Africa’s hopes of winning the match were still alive despite just scoring 153 runs against the Indian team. Although the squad was expected to perform better, they have been pretty good at restricting the hosts when they have come in to bat in the second inning.
At the end of the first day of the second Test, the Proteas had amassed 62 runs and lost three wickets. The team, trailing by 36 runs, will want to put up a large total on the board and present India with a formidable challenge to meet in order to win the series. As South Africa looks to win big, Aiden Markram and David Bedingham will go on strike to start the second day of the match.
