The Team India (Senior Women) roster for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup T20, 2024—which is scheduled to take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka—was revealed by the Women’s Selection Committee on Saturday, July 6.
On July 19, 2024, India, who is in Group A of the competition, will play their first match against Pakistan. UAE and Nepal are two of the four teams in Group A for the prestigious competition, in addition to India and Pakistan.
Next up in the tournament’s group stage, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team will play the UAE on July 21, 2024, and then Nepal on July 23, 2024.
At the global event, Harmanpreet and Smriti Mandhana, the regular captain and vice-captain, will be in charge of their responsibilities. The 15-man roster also includes notable cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues, Renuka Singh Thakur, and Deepti Sharma.
Richa Ghosh has been kept on as the wicketkeeper, with Uma Chetry likely to remain her backup. The selectors have also declared that young people like Asha Sobhana, Sajana Sajeevan, and Shreyanka Patil are essential.
Renuka, Arundhati Reddy, and Pooja Vastrakar will lead the pace onslaught. Along with the Women in Blue, four reserves, namely Shweta Sehrawat, Saika Ishaque, Tanuja Kanwer, and Meghna Singh, will also visit the island nation.
