When it comes to his consistency across formats, cricket pundit Harsha Bhogle was questioned about Kohli’s capacity to switch between formats and maintain his performance.
Without a doubt, one of the best batters of the modern era is Indian star Virat Kohli. Kohli’s fitness has always kept him at the top and in the lead, enabling him to perform superbly in every format.
Speaking about the same subject, a video of Bhogle that went viral showed him discussing how Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League might gain by dismissing Kohli and substituting him for a batsman who has a higher strike rate. But the sixty-two-year-old claims the video was edited and removed from its original context.
“One excellent example is Virat Kohli. It’s not supposed to happen to Virat Kohli when he plays Test cricket for India. After a while, it might have been in the team’s best interest for him to go; he now plays for RCB and India. How do you come to terms with the idea that I am among the best players to have ever played the game, but that right now it would be better for the team if I left because the guy coming in will most likely hit 20 of 6 balls? Speaking at Mumbai, India’s SHRM India Talent Leadership Summit & Expo 2024,
Harsha Bhogle stated, “Viral Kohli is an extreme example.”

Now, he goes to play for RCB, for India; beyond a certain point, it might actually been the interest of the side for him to get out. How do you reconcile to… pic.twitter.com/PtZE1XJObB

After seeing the video go viral, Bhogle took to X (previously known as Twitter) to demand that the entire clip be posted so that fans could better understand what he was talking about.
“This is an illustration of the social media topic I was discussing. The video cuts off right before I remark that Virat can play in a variety of settings and that my objective was just to emphasize how even the best players must always reevaluate their priorities and demands. Get moving, @PTI_News You are capable of more, I’m sure. No one will be able to express ideas clearly again with reporting that has been deliberately censored. Would you kindly release the entire clip? Bhogle sent out a tweet.
This is an example of what I was talking about with social media. The video is cropped just before the point where I say that Virat is capable of playing across situations but that I was only highlighting how even the greatest players have to keep adjusting demands and… https://t.co/bfJCdem08e
