The Hampshire Hawks, in partnership with the government of Guyana, a major participant in the competition, recently revealed their team for the first independent cricket event that will have full sanction from Cricket West Indies.
Chris Wood, a left-arm medium pacer, will lead the 14-man team, including a few more the team has not yet confirmed. Wood is an adept advocate of the new ball and a skilled death-over specialist. Having participated in more than 200 20-over matches, the T20 expert most recently played for the Grand Cayman Jaguars in the MAX60 Caribbean.
Former England international Liam Dawson is another well-known figure in the starting lineup. Despite never being able to succeed in the international stage, the spin-bowling all-rounder is a familiar face in franchise competitions across the world. After only 20 appearances in all forms during his six-year involvement with England, he declared that he would prefer to focus on becoming a consistent presence in franchise tournaments over running drinks for England.
born in Cape Town The Hawks also have seasoned campaigner James Fuller on their roster. With T20 experience under his belt, the dynamic all-rounder is expected to have a significant effect on the team. Uncapped players who have not yet represented their country make up the majority of the team. Sonny Baker, a 21-year-old right-arm fast medium, and Ali Orr, a 23-year-old top-order batter, are worth keeping an eye on.
